,
I have a compassionate, friendly, but educational style. I aim to help the people I work with understand what they are struggling with from a curious space by learning about their nervous system and how their body and emotions play a role in their everyday life. I hope to help people see themselves for more than just symptoms or a diagnosis. Through nervous system regulation and EMDR processing, we work towards putting their difficulties behind them
I work with adults who have experienced traumatic events. I also am certified to work with Law Enforcement and First Responders.
The first few sessions focus on history taking and understanding my client's nervous system. It's important that I understand what is activating to their nervous system and what helps them feel safe and regulated. I teach some grounding techniques over the first few sessions and use these throughout treatment. Together we decide when to begin EMDR and what will be targeted. I give my clients a lot of choice in how they want to spend their sessions, while gently guiding them through the process.
I practice through a trauma informed lens, primarily offering EMDR and utilize elements from the Polyvagal Theory to maintain awareness and understanding of our nervous system.
