You tell me your goals, and I collaborate with you to make them happen. I am open-minded, affirming, and I will always believe what you tell me.
I work with those who consider themselves "outsiders" by societal standards. This includes working with religious trauma/deconstruction, kink-affirming & sex work/sex positivity, LGBTQ+ folks, gender identity exploration, neurodivergence, and those navigating non-monogamy.
It starts with a check-in to determine how your week has gone (and see if any new concerns have popped up or need processing), and then I verify that you want to work on the chosen goal. If you say something that indicates to me "this person needs X approach," I will often change directions to guide you to the next steps.
I believe strongly in strengths perspective (everyone has them), and that we don't have things we "suck at." Those are areas of growth. I believe that the person in environment (PIE) theory is important as a lens because we can get you to a good place on your end, but if we end the session and you go back to a chaotic life where you feel trapped, that has to be factored into the equation.
I am a neurodivergent, queer, secular, disabled, tattooed, fat, feminist, liberal therapist. This informs my treatment and how I show up.
