I use a cognitive/cognitive-behavioral approach towards therapy that is informed by attachment theory/developmental psychology. I incorporate DBT and mindfulness approaches into the treatment process based on client needs. My goal is to work myself out of a job, I want clients to understand themselves better and learn to do the work that is done in session on their own.
I specialize in child and and adolescent (age 12-28) therapy. I work with adults, approximately 20%of my clients are adults, 65% are adolescents and 15% are children.
Sessions follow the needs of a client with an agreed upon goal so that each session builds upon the previous while allowing for crisis or emergencies to be a focus when needed. I want clients to leave a session different than how they came in.
I approach clinical work from a biopsychosocial spiritual perspective. The mind, body and spirit connect together to complete a person and the whole person needs to be addressed and in alignment. Approaching therapy from this lens through CBT allows the client to take control of their life and move forward in a positive direction.
