I help people to finally relax at the deepest levels so they can see themselves more clearly. When they recognize - through observation and logic - that they are inherently, fundamentally good and whole, the work towards solving problems, healing trauma, and repairing relationships takes on new dimensions.
I love working with people who long to be grounded in the confidence that comes from understanding their own mind and emotions, who seek deeper connection with others, and who wish to be able to live more often in alignment with their deepest values. This requires work, and I love helping people who are motivated to work.

We'll learn about different theories of mind to open curiosity about yourself and what troubles you. We'll use inquiry to activate self-observation and inner discovery. We'll help you find the most descriptive language for your experiences to reach new levels of clarity. And we'll experience the mind/body connection for deep presence, greater intuition, and direct action. Discussion, mindfulness exercises, breathwork, visualization, and behavior experiments will be a big part of our toolkit.
I'm motivated by the connection I feel for people - I understand from my own experience the pain and confusion that can come from trauma, difficult family backgrounds, anxiety, and depression. Helping others is the natural consequence of healing, and it is with deep gratitude for my therapists and teachers that I do this work. Plus, it's the most interesting gig in the world! Each of your stories is fascinating to me.
I am a humanist, a mystical agnostic, a lover of Nature and Life. I personally practice Buddhist training of the mind and heart, which informs my wide appreciation for all kinds of people. I've been teaching martial arts for over 40 years, am learning to play guitar, and have been married for 27 years to my wife, who co-parents our adolescent son, who we adopted at birth from Thailand. I'm grateful to be here, and look forward to meeting you.
